If you are looking for a well rounded broker that has an easy to use platform, Scottrade is a solid fit. In our 2012 Broker Review they received a 5 Star Overall rating in addition to Best in Class for Customer Service, Investor Education, and Ease of Use. Scottrade has over 500+ local branch offices, one of the strongest retail presences of any online based brokerage. Commissions are just outside the bounds of what investors consider a discount broker, so traders can expect some savings compared to the higher trade costs at the larger brokerages. Highly personable from when you open your account to the on going relationship they share with their clients, Scottrade will be your new best friend.
tradeMONSTER ($15.00) has minimal mutual fund trade commission savings when compared to Scottrade ($17.00). The small amount of $[PerTradeMutualFundFeeDifference] would only be pertinent for high volume trading which is very uncommon with mutual funds specifically. Scottrade ($7.00) has a slight per trade stock price advantage over tradeMONSTER ($7.50). This marginal difference of $0.50 should be taken into consideration by very high volume traders.

Only tradeMONSTER has an iPad app for tablet trading while Scottrade does not support the device at this time. You can find the app in the iTunes app store. Both Scottrade and tradeMONSTER have an iPhone App for mobile trading.
