Every broker charges a rate for trading stocks. Stock / equity trading fees come in two forms: flat fee and per share.
Flat fee trading is the most common as the broker charges one rate no matter how many shares or what security is traded. Most active trading brokers use a per share rate which can mean cheaper costs for trading depending on the order size.
Below are all the per share commission rates for trading stocks online. Note, it is important to read the commission notes for each broker you are considering to understand the full commissions schedule before opening an account. Since most brokers do not offer a per share commission plan, these brokers are listed with "N/A".
