Dislikes - GFT is technically a dealing desk and not a true ECN broker

Bottom Line - GFT Forex offers an excellent environment for new and experienced traders to continue building their trading skills and developing their strategies without paying a big premium in trade costs.

GFT Forex, is the Forex arm of Global Futures & Forex, ltd. (GFT). They are headquarted in Grand Rapids, MI but provide trading services globally with offices in Japan, U.A.E., United Kingdom, and Singapore to name just a few. They pride themselves on providing market access that is approachable and easy to understand for clients of any level of trading experience. They focus heavily on education and helping their clients improve their trading skills and build experience.

Commission Notes

GFT Forex does not charge commission for forex trades, instead they are compensated through the difference (i.e. spread) between the Bid and Ask prices of whatever currency pair is being traded.

Spread - GFT is transparent about their current spread rates on their site. They keep a rates table that is updated using the actual spread data for the previous 4 weeks of trading on all Major currency pairs and crosses. We found on average they appear to insert approximately 1 pip of additional spread on major pairs which puts them inline with most major brokers in the industry.

Premier Accounts - GFT offers 4 distinct account packages ranging from "Bronze" to "Platinum" at incrementally higher account balance requirements. At the more premier account packages they provide premium news feeds, analysis tools and other miscellaneous premiums that are not available to smaller accounts.

Micro Account Trading - All accounts at GFT trade the same data feeds and utilize the same platform, in addition they are all capable of trading currency in 1,000 unit increments (aka micro lots).
