Charles Schwab (SCHW) announced the launch of a new online Planning Center. The Schwab Planning Center has content and insights designed to help investors begin planning for retirement, estate planning, college savings and more. For each of these topics, the planning process is broken down into manageable steps based on specific goals or financial situations of the individual.
More investors are thinking ahead and looking to prepare themselves financially, and Schwab has set up this program to help them know how to best be financially ready for big events in the future. Schwab’s survey from mid-December said that 62 percent of investors would be likely to invest a windfall of $25,000. However, only 34 percent are confident in their own decision making. Schwab is taking steps to try to make individual investors feel more confident about their investment decisions.
Rodney Prezeau, Schwab Vice President of Client Experience, explained that investors are asking for more today. Prezeau said, “Our clients are becoming increasingly engaged in investing and planning, and our new Planning Center offers practical guidance on how to plan for a variety of financial goals and life-events, which can give them more confidence that they are on the right path.”
The best news of all is both clients and non-clients have full access to the Planning Center.
