TD Ameritrade (AMTD) is an official sponsor of the United States Olympic team, and Ameritrade has launched a major advertising campaign for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. You’ll be seeing quite a few TD Ameritrade ads tied to the Winter Olympics in the coming weeks. Many of them are part of the #itaddsup campaign. The #itaddsup campaign is a social media giving campaign backed by TD Ameritrade. TD Ameritrade has selected seven youngsters who are future Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls. This group of seven “next generation” athletes will be supported via the #itsaddsup campaign.
How can fans of Team USA help out with the #itaddsup campaign?
1. Help by using the hashtag #itaddsup leading up to the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Every mention of that hashtag will get those next generation athletes closer to Sochi. For each mention, TD Ameritrade will contribute a mile of air miles toward sending these hopefuls to Sochi to soak in the Olympic experience. The goal is to help them be more prepared when they might be competing in 2014.
2. During the 2014 Sochi Olympics, every mention of #itaddsup will help fund the future of these athletes. TD Ameritrade has set up a brokerage account for each of them. TD Ameritrade will add funds to their account for each mention during the games, and those funds can then be used for training and expenses.
The theme of the TD Ameritrade campaign is “Behind every big moment there are lots of small ones.” TD Ameritrade is also sponsoring six 2014 Olympians and one 2014 Paralympic Competitor. A series of online films, developed by Goodby Silverstein & Partners will highlight the athletes TD Ameritrade is sponsoring in this year’s games. Each spot finishes with, “TD Ameritrade, helping you reach your long-term goals, one small step at a time.”
